Are You Grateful Enough?
The question isn’t whether you’re good enough to live for God, but whether you’re grateful enough to live for God.
Faith is the result of surrender, not effort. While faith will bring about good works. Works will not necessarily bring about faith. The essence of faith is surrendering to God. In surrendering, we receive from God freely what we could have never earned. The grace of God enables us to do what we are incapable of doing. “Grace is not sweaty!” (as a preacher once said) In realizing that nothing can separate you from God and His love because of Jesus, you enable an atmosphere in your life that causes faith in Jesus to thrive. In that atmosphere, sin loses its appeal. In that atmosphere, love for God eats up toleration for sin. In that atmosphere, human impossibilities are possible - even the impossibility of consistent pure and clean living. God’s love is free. God’s grace is free. Now be grateful so you can live in His grace and be liberated! Living grateful is better than living out of obligation. Living grateful is living the life of grace.
